01

How your phone finds Qibla

A Qibla app first calculates the bearing between your coordinates and the Kaaba. Your phone’s magnetometer and orientation sensors then show how the device is aligned with that bearing. Accuracy depends on both location and healthy sensor readings.

02

Move away from interference

Metal tables, speakers, magnetic cases and large electronics can disturb a compass. Move to an open area, hold the phone flat and follow any calibration prompt. Moving the device in a figure-eight pattern can recalibrate the sensor.

03

Verify the result

Compare your first reading with a known mosque mihrab or a trusted map direction. If the difference is large, remove the case, refresh location permission and calibrate the compass again.
